Adventure in Amboli

Mumbai - Amboli Ghat - Tarkarli - Nivati fort - Vijaydurg - Mumbai

Day 1. Mumbai to Amboli Ghat.

 

Leave Dadar at 9.00 p.m., reach Amboli Ghat at 8.30 a.m. Check into hotel and get fresh. Breakfast at 10.00 a.m. Local sightseeing -visit Hiranyakeshi temple. Lunch at hotel at 1.00 p.m. Do a jungle safari at 4.00 p.m. after tea & snacks at hotel and return to market for shopping. Dinner and Night halt in hotel - Lecture on Wild Life along with a film show.

 

Amboli at 690 m is the last hill station before the coastal highlands of Goa and a relatively unexplored one. Amboli lies in the Sahyadri Hills of Western India, one of the world's "Eco Hot-Spots" and it therefore abounds in a variety of fairly unique flora and fauna.

 

Day 2. Amboli Ghat.

 

Early morning at 9.00 a.m. after breakfast leave for Kalanandi fort with packed lunch training in basic rock climbing & rappelling by experts in our team. Return to hotel at Amboli for dinner and overnight stay

 

Day 3. Amboli Ghat to Tarkarli

 

After Breakfast, at 9.00 a.m. leave for Pargad Fort through dense jungle . Lunch at Pargad Fort. After visiting the fort proceed to Sawantwadi via Tillari Dam by bus. Reach Sawantwadi by 5.30 p.m. for tea and snacks. Leave for Tarkarli at 6.00 p.m. Reach tarkarli at 8.00 p.m. overnight stay at Tarkarli.

 

Pargad Fort: A Historic fort situated on border of Sindhudurg and Kolhapur, near Tillari.

There is only one way, made up of rock steps to arrive at the fort.

 

Tilari (Forebay) Dam is situated in Dodanarg Taluka, and constructed on Tilari River.

 

Sawantwadi: is a taluka in the Sindhdurg district . Sawantwadi was formerly the capital city of the 'Royal Kingdom of Sawantwadi' ruled by the Bhosale clan of Marathas. Khemsawant III constructed the existing palace in late 18th century.

 

Tarkarli is a village in Malvan Taluka district Sindhudurg. From the beach, one can see the famous naval fort Sindhudurg. Sighting dolphins is not a rare event here.

 

Day 04. Tarkarli

 

After breakfast, at 10.00 a.m. Visit to Sindhudurga fort , and water sports till 3.00 p.m. lunch and tea and snacks at the beach .shopping till 5,00 p.m. return to Tarkarli for Dinner and overnight halt.

 

Sindhudurg a protected monument, is a fortress that lies on the shores of Malvan town of Sindhudurg district in the Konkan region of Maharashtra.

Constructed in 1667, the sea fort is spread over 48 acres, with a 3 km long rampart, and walls that are 30 feet high and 12 feet thick. The main entrance is concealed in such a way that no one can pinpoint it from outside.

 

Day 05. Tarkarli to Nivati fort Deo baug (the best beach on the konkan coast )

 

After Breakfast, at 9.30 a.m. leave for Nivati fort with packed lunch. Arrive there at 11.00 a.m. trek up the fort reach by 12.00 noon. Watch fort and dolphins from the fort. Lunch at base village return at 4.00 p.m. to deobaug for sunset. And enjoy speed boat rides. return to Tarkarli hotel.

 

Nivati fort: This dilapidated fort by the seashore. It commands a fine view of Bhogwe beach.

Nivati, as its name suggests is a fort, constructed by great Maratha ruler Shivaji Maharaj.

 

Day 06. Tarkali to Vijaydurg fort.

 

After Breakfast at 9.00 a.m. leave for Vijaydurg fort via Kunkeshwar a famous 11 A.D temple in konkan. Visit Devgad city for lunch 12.00 noon. Leave to shop for the alphonso mangoes and proceed for Vijaydurg fort at 1.30 p.m. reach vijaydurg at 2.30 p.m. return from fort at 6.00 p.m. visit to Vimleshwar Temple which has paintings that are 400 years old from the time of the Peshwas.Retun by bus to Mumbai by night journey. With dinner enroute at a Highway Hotel

Vijaydurg:The oldest fort on Sindhudurg coast constructed during the regime of Raja Bhoj of shilahar dynasty in 1205 . The fort was earlier known as "Gheria" as it is situated in the village "Girye". Shivaji Maharaj won this fort from Adilshaha of Bijapur in 1653 and renamed it as “Vijay Durg”

Presently the area of fort is about 17 acres and is surrounded by Arabian Sea on its three sides. Chatrapati Shivaji extended the area of fort by constructing three fort walls on the eastern side. These three fortifications are of 36 m height and he also constructed 20 bastions of the fort wall.

 

Day 07: reach Mumbai.

 

Reach morning in Mumbai at 7.00 a.m.
